Q: I want to use the lab in my future research. What do I have to think about?
- Discuss with the lab director if you would like to include the lab in your application in some way, and especially if you are thinking about locating a project moneywise in the lab.
- Cost? It depends on who you are and what you want to use the Lab for. Please contact the lab admin staff for information regarding costs.
- If you need some kind of special equipment (software, hardware additions) that is not facilitated by the lab, include the cost for this also in your application. It might be a good thing to familiarize yourself with the facilities in the lab, and if money has to be applied for concerning specific things. For information regarding placing externally funded equipment in the lab, have a look at our policy documents.
- Carefully go through all ethical aspects. The researcher is always responsible for the research, not the lab. More information can be found here.
Q: What is a project?
The projects in the Lab are of different nature, but the rule is that the Lab manages users and activities through projects. A project can run for several years, or just consist of one single recording in the LARM studio. Thus, Lab projects can be concerned with everything from a long-term experimental data collection to using software for video editing. A project can also consist of lengthy or consecutive consultations with our experts. Also, note that for a student project (on BA or MA level), the principal investigator always has to be one of the responsible supervisor.
Q: Does it cost anything to use the Lab?
A: It depends on who you are and what you want to use the Lab for. Read more about this in the Policy documents
Q: I am not a user, can I rent the LARM-studio/anechoic chamber for other purposes than research?
A: The lab is a research infrastructure that should be used for research purposes. However, subject to avaliability, you can rent our studios for other purposes (for example making podcasts). The pricelist (in Swedish) can be found here.
