Overview

Articulography at the Humanities Lab involves tracking speech articulators such as the tongue, lips, and jaw using electromagnetic sensors. It provides detailed data on speech production and movement.

Applications

Used in phonetics, speech therapy, linguistics, and language acquisition research. Enables analysis of articulatory patterns and coordination.

Technical Details

- AG500 and AG501 electromagnetic articulographs.
- Up to 16 sensors recorded simultaneously.
- Sampling rates: 1250 Hz (AG501), 200 Hz (AG500).
- 3D tracking of articulatory movement.
