Hosting the 29th Conference of the European Second Language Association, EuroSLA 29, August 28-31 2019

How do we learn new languages? Is learning your mother tongue different from learning an additional language? Are some languages harder to learn than others? What role does motivation, talent, and education play for learning? These are pressing questions in today's globalised and multilingual world. The European Second Language Association gathers 300 scholars from all over the world to address these issues at its 29th annual conference, EuroSLA 29, held at LUX in Lund. There will also be a roundtable discussion on the theme of Migration and Second Language Acquisition. LU Futura, the Lund University think tank, also hosts a public event on language tests and citizenship the day before the conference. The EuroSLA 29 conference is jointly hosted by Lund University Humanities Lab and the Centre for Languages and Literature. <link https: www.eurosla2019.se external-link-new-window external link in new>EuroSLA 29, August 28-31, 2019, at LUX <link https: www.lu.se event futurasamtal-4-om-spraktest-och-medborgarskap external-link-new-window external link in new>Futura #4 about language testing and citizenship, Aug. 27 2019, at the Pufendorf Institute for Advanced Studies More <link https: www.lu.se article sprakforskare-fran-hela-varlden-pa-storkonferens-i-lund external-link-new-window external link in new>here (in Swedish)
