The Articulograph AG500 in the Humanities Lab is used to measure and record articulatory speech movements in 3D, for instance of the tongue, the mouth and the jaw. The measurements are obtained by an electromagnetic field and small sensor coils that are attached to the articulators, such as the tongue. Up to twelve coils can be recorded simultaneously. The sampling frequency is 200 Hz and well suited for registration of fast speech movements. More information about the AG500 can be found at the manufacturer's website: (New window)
