LU Humanities Lab is a university-wide research infrastructure, located at the Joint Faculties for Humanities and Theology, that offers LU researchers free access to advanced instruments and associated methodological competence to measure human behavior, expertise in data management, as well as research preparation training and user support in a cross-disciplinary and international environment.

The Lab houses a wide array of advanced sensor based instruments with relevant software; research competent staff with responsibility for specific equipment, methods and research preparation training; servers to manage data short-term, data management expertise; as well as administrative and technical support.

The Humanities Lab is a research infrastructure as defined by the Research Council:

  • enable research of the highest scientific quality
  • be openly accessible primarily to researchers, but also to the business sector, the public sector, and other relevant actors.
  • create clear national added value
  • have long-term plans for the scientific operation and its development
  • take long-term responsibility for management and control, funding, competence accumulation and development of the operation
  • contribute to societal development, for example by enabling research that addresses issues relating to societal challenges.
